Montego Bay—MoBay if you’re talking like a local—is one of my favourite places in Jamaica, and also where I call home. It’s the capital of the northwestern parish of St. James and the second largest city on the island, which is why it’s often called the “Second City.”
But don’t let the nickname fool you—MoBay is first when it comes to fun, especially if you’re looking for a mix of relaxation and excitement. It’s actually known as the Tourism Capital of Jamaica, and once you’ve been, it’s easy to see why. Hey! Even Christopher Columbus came here and fell in love with the island. What’s not to love? The beaches are unreal, the food is packed with flavour (you haven’t lived until you’ve had jerk chicken straight off the grill), and the nightlife? Let’s just say you won’t be bored.
Its vibrant nightlife, natural beauty, famous restaurants, bars and beaches are great for the perfect getaway.
